Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot
From its humble beginnings with just 21 participating teams, the FDI Moot has become one of the leading international arbitration moots with more than 150 teams taking part worldwide in each of the past five years and more than 7000 students having passed through the competition. After 17 years, the FDI Moot sees its first alumni/ae/* establishing themselves in the upper echelons of the profession, working for major law firms representing foreign investors and host States alike, as well as working “in house” for businesses, governments, arbitral institutions, NGOs, and international organisations.
Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot Over 2000 professional arbitrators, academics, and counsel have supported the FDI Moot as moot arbitrators, giving their time and sharing their expertise and experience with a new generation of international lawyers. The venue of the FDI Moot Globals rotates each year, primarily among the cofounders but also among regional organizers and partners. The 2024 FDI Moot will be hosted by DIS at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.The 2025 Globals will be hosted in Boston and the 2026 Globals in Shenzhen.
